It’s time for Ellen to return to her former glory.
Imagine, nearly 100 years ago, when the Story family unveiled the new crown jewel of downtown Bozeman, The Ellen Theatre looked like this.
First opened in 1919, The Ellen’s original Marquee and Canopy, designed by renowned architect Fred Willson, featured elegant iron work and decorative
Honor the past – and celebrate the future. Utilizing Willson’s actual blueprints and historic photographs, this lovely lady is being restored to her original beauty.
Every detail is perfect, down to the stylish Ellen Angel door handles, reflecting the grace and style of this notable landmark.
Total cost of this much-needed renovation, including a substantial discount from Martel Construction: $473,000.00.
Thank you to Don and Marilyn Murdock; their generous lead donation of $60,000.00 will pay for the new wooden doors.
More good news – The Taylor Family Foundation has offered a matching grant of up to $100,000.00. Every dollar that you give to this project is instantly doubled.
The Ellen is a non-profit theatre and all donations are tax-deductible.
