It’s time for Ellen to return to her former glory.

Imagine, nearly 100 years ago, when the Story family unveiled the new crown jewel of downtown Bozeman, The Ellen Theatre looked like this.

First opened in 1919, The Ellen’s original Marquee and Canopy, designed by renowned architect Fred Willson, featured elegant iron work and decorative
stained glass.

Honor the past – and celebrate the future. Utilizing Willson’s actual blueprints and historic photographs, this lovely lady is being restored to her original beauty.

Total cost of this much-needed renovation, including a substantial discount from Martel Construction: $473,000.00.

Thank you to Don and Marilyn Murdock; their generous lead donation of $60,000.00 will pay for the new wooden doors.

As of June 25th, we have raised $376,692., leaving a balance of $96,308.00.

Much thanks to The Taylor Family Foundation for their 2018 generous matching grant of $100,000, which we were able to meet. Also, the Gianforte Family Foundation has pledged the final $50,000. needed for the project.

The Ellen is a non-profit theatre and all donations are tax-deductible.
